Throughout our 80 years, Star has been dedicated to giving back to the communities we serve and part of our mission is to be a respected community citizen! In addition to encouraging employees to volunteer, serving in leadership roles with great non-profit organizations and regularly holding blood drives we created the Goebel Family Star Lumber Charitable Foundation.
Star Lumber gives 8% of our pre-tax operating profits back to the community through this foundation. Because the demand for donations often far exceeds our limits we have formed the Goebel Family STAR LUMBER Charitable Trust to administer all corporate funding of money or materials to charities that benefit the community as a whole. This trust is administered by a Board of Trustees who regularly meet on the third Thursday of the odd-numbered months. Written requests are reviewed and responses given to all applications.
