Windows styles are a way of expressing your personality and lifestyle. If you can dream it, we can build it.
You have preferences - we have options. Windows come in different sizes, styles, shapes and colors. With choices on exterior colors, glass, interior finishes, grilles and hardware, the options are unlimited. You can design the perfect window for your home and we can help.
Awning windows are traditionally hinged at the top and open outward from the bottom. Typically they are wider than they are tall. One of the most common uses of awning windows is combining a picture window on the top and an awning window on the bottom for ventilation.
Bow & Bay
A bow window is a combination of casement windows that projects out from the home in a sweeping bow-like fashion. A bay window is a combination of two casement windows and a picture window that projects out from the home at a 30 or 45 degree angle. Both provide a seating board that becomes a cozy window bench on the interior.
Casements windows are one of the most common window types. They are hinged from the side and open outward. Most casements open to a 90 degree angle to provide maximum ventilation. They are narrow and tall and it is common to see several casements mulled (joined) together in 2,3,4 or 5 windows widths.
Single & Double Hung
A single or double hung window is usually two sashes in one frame to form one window. Single hung windows will have a fixed sash at the top and the bottom sash will raise for ventilation. A double hung window will have two moving sashes, the top will open down and the bottom sash will raise up for ventilation.
A gliding window slides on a rail to the side. You can choose which direction they slide, left or right. Most gliding windows are twice as wide as they are tall. The most common gliding, or sliding, window is two sashes: one fixed and one that slides open giving a large ventilation area. Want other options? Star has many different options so come and see all the possibilities for your space.
A picture window provides a large viewing area and no ventilation. You can combine picture windows with casements, awning or hung windows to create multilple sizes and styles to fit almost any situation.
Here's where your imagination can go to work. Star can build windows with an arch top, a round top, a catherdral top. Want a triangle or diamond-shape window? We can do that as well. How about an oval window? No problem. Polygon shaped? Octagon? Yes. Yes. Like we said. If you can dream it, we can build it.
